****This collage came about by accident—or rather, in collaboration.**

  
****I started making it when I was living with my mother-in-law, who was suffering from Alzheimer's. I pasted a black figure with a clock instead of a face, and a woman with her back turned. I left the unfinished work on my desk and went out to the grocery store.**

  
****Upon returning, I saw that she had pasted on the woman's head—a picture of a salad cut out from a recipe...**

  
****It was surprisingly well-chosen in terms of both color and form, as if the gesture hadn't been accidental at all. I left this joint composition exactly as it was.**

  
****I titled it "Mr Alzheimer"—like an attempt to show not the disease itself, but the world as seen from the inside.**

Ten kolaż powstał przypadkiem — albo raczej we współpracy.

Zaczęłam go robić, kiedy mieszkałam z teściową chorującą na Alzheimera. Nakleiłam czarną postać z zegarem zamiast twarzy i kobietę odwróconą tyłem. Zostawiłam niedokończoną pracę na biurku i wyszłam do sklepu.

Po powrocie zobaczyłam, że dokleiła głowę kobiety — wycięte z przepisu zdjęcie sałatki...

Było zaskakująco dobrze dobrane kolorystycznie i formalnie, jakby ten gest nie był przypadkowy. Zostawiłam tę wspólną kompozycję bez zmian.

Nadałam jej tytuł **„Mr Alzheimer”** — jak próbę pokazania nie choroby, ale świata widzianego od środka.
