ENG Version: Mr. Alzheimer

This collage came about by accident—or rather, in collaboration.

I started making it when I was living with my mother-in-law, who was suffering from Alzheimer's. I pasted a black figure with a clock instead of a face, and a woman with her back turned. I left the unfinished work on my desk and went out to the grocery store.

Upon returning, I saw that she had pasted on the woman's head—a picture of a salad cut out from a recipe...

It was surprisingly well-chosen in terms of both color and form, as if the gesture hadn't been accidental at all. I left this joint composition exactly as it was.

I titled it "Mr Alzheimer"—like an attempt to show not the disease itself, but the world as seen from the inside.

Ten kolaż powstał przypadkiem — albo raczej we współpracy.

Zaczęłam go robić, kiedy mieszkałam z teściową chorującą na Alzheimera. Nakleiłam czarną postać z zegarem zamiast twarzy i kobietę odwróconą tyłem.
